How consent works here
When you first visit, a banner asks whether to accept non-essential cookies. Until you answer, Coastline Health Review loads no analytics and no advertising scripts at all — not in a limited mode, not anonymously. They are simply not on the page.
If you accept, the scripts in the second table below load. If you reject, they do not, and your choice is remembered for 180 days. You can change your mind at any time on the Your Privacy Choices page.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are set regardless of your choice, because without them the site cannot remember what you decided.
| Cookie | Set by | Lifetime | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| chr_consent | First party | 180 days | Records whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies, so we do not ask again on every page and so nothing loads without your choice. |
| chr_attribution | First party | 30 days | Stores the campaign parameters from the link you arrived on (UTM values, and advertising click identifiers such as fbclid and gclid) so that if you subscribe or submit a request later, we know which article or campaign brought you. Contains no personal information. |
Analytics and advertising cookies
These load only after you accept.
| Cookie | Set by | Lifetime | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Up to 2 years | Distinguishes readers and sessions so we can see which articles are read and how far people get through them. |
| Google Tag Manager | n/a (script) | Container that loads our measurement tags. Sets no cookies of its own; the tags it loads may. | |
| _fbp | Meta | 90 days | Measures whether an advertising campaign led to a newsletter subscription or a match request. |
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies through its settings, and most offer a way to block third-party cookies specifically. Blocking the two first-party cookies above will not break the site, but it does mean the consent banner will reappear on each visit, because there is nowhere to record that you answered it.
You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google’s browser add-on, and manage Meta advertising preferences in your Meta account settings.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out automatically and do not load advertising or analytics scripts.
