Who we are

Coastline Health Review is a publication covering preventive medicine, diagnostics and longevity. We are the business responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at get in touch or via our contact page.

We are not a medical provider and this site is not a healthcare service. The information you give us is not protected health information under HIPAA, because we are not a covered entity. It is ordinary personal information, and this policy is how we handle it.

Categories of personal information we collect

Using the categories set out in the California Consumer Privacy Act, in the past twelve months we have collected the following.

Identifiers

Name, email address, telephone number, postal ZIP code, IP address, and cookie or device identifiers. Collected directly from you when you subscribe to the newsletter or submit a diagnostics match request, and automatically when you browse the site.

Commercial information

The interest option you select on a match request — for example, whether you are interested in a one-time comprehensive assessment or a year-round program. Collected directly from you.

Internet or other electronic network activity

Pages viewed, referring URL, approximate scroll depth, the campaign parameters that brought you here (UTM values and advertising click identifiers such asfbclid and gclid), browser and device type, and general location inferred from IP address. Collected automatically, and only after you have accepted non-essential cookies, other than what is strictly necessary to serve the site.

Inferences

Whether the ZIP code you enter falls inside an area our featured partner serves. Derived from the ZIP code you provide.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for and do not want your medical history, symptoms, diagnoses, test results or any other health information, and you should not send it to us. We do not collect government identifiers, financial account numbers or payment card details — nothing is sold through this site. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16, and we do not sell or share the personal information of minors.

Why we collect it

• To send you the newsletter you asked for, and to let you unsubscribe.
• To pass your match request to the featured partner serving your area so they can contact you, which is the entire purpose of that form.
• To understand which articles readers find useful and which campaigns bring them here, so we can commission more of what works.
• To detect and prevent spam, fraud and abuse of our forms.
• To comply with legal obligations and to establish or defend legal claims.

Who we share it with

Our featured partner. If you submit a diagnostics match request, we pass the name, email address, telephone number, ZIP code and stated interest you entered to the featured partner serving your area — currently The Breen Center for Optimal Health in Irvine, CA. That is the point of the form, and we say so on the form itself. Once they have your information, their own privacy practices apply to their use of it. We are paid for these referrals; see our disclosures.

Service providers. Hosting, email delivery, analytics and customer relationship management vendors process personal information on our behalf, under contracts that restrict them to our instructions.

Advertising platforms. If you accept non-essential cookies, we use Google Analytics and the Meta advertising pixel to measure campaign performance. Under California law, this use of cookies for cross-context behavioural advertising may be considered “sharing” even though no money changes hands for your information. You can opt out at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page.

Legal. We may disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, safety or property. If the publication is sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information

We do not sell personal information for money, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do share information with advertising platforms for cross-context behavioural advertising when you consent to non-essential cookies, which California law treats as sharing. Use Your Privacy Choices to opt out.

How long we keep it

• Newsletter subscribers. Until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record afterward so that we do not email you again by mistake.
• Match requests. Retained for up to 24 months so we can reconcile referrals and respond if you contact us about one.
• Analytics and campaign data. Retained for up to 14 months in line with our analytics provider’s default settings.
• Attribution stored in your browser. Campaign parameters are held in a first-party cookie for 30 days. Your cookie consent choice is held for 180 days.

We may keep information for longer where the law requires it or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim.

Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the following rights.

• Right to know. To request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, our purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclosed it to.
• Right to delete. To request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
• Right to correct. To request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
• Right to opt out of sale or sharing. To direct us to stop sharing your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Use Your Privacy Choices.
• Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information as that term is defined, so there is nothing to limit. If that ever changes, this policy will change with it.
• Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower quality of service because you exercised any of these rights.

How to exercise them

Email get in touch with the subject “Privacy request”, or write to us at the postal address above. To opt out of sharing, you do not need to contact us at all — use Your Privacy Choices, or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser, which we honour.

We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days, extendable by a further 45 days where necessary, in which case we will tell you. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, usually by confirming control of the email address associated with the information. An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission, which we may ask to see.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

There is no consistent industry standard for Do Not Track browser signals, so we do not respond to them. We do honour the Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out of sharing for California residents.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and access to submitted information is limited to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Readers outside the United States

This site is intended for readers in the United States, and information is processed in the United States. If you are reading from elsewhere, be aware that your jurisdiction’s privacy law may offer protections that United States law does not.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, note it on the site. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
